Join River City Robotics
Build robots, win awards, and make friends. We are looking for new members in grades 7 to 12.
River City Robotics has two FIRST Tech Challenge teams, and we have room for new members.
Roles on the team
Coding & software
Program the robot in Java, including autonomous routines and sensor-driven control.
Mechanical design
Design parts in CAD and bring them to life with 3D printing and prototyping.
Outreach & media
Tell our story, create our engineering portfolio, run social media, and connect with the community and sponsors.
When and where
We meet Mondays, Wednesday and Thursdays, 6:30 to 8:30pm, starting in September (lighter over the summer), in South Edmonton. Members come from Edmonton and the surrounding area.
How to join
Send us a note with the student’s name, grade, and what they are interested in before June 30th and we will follow up with next steps and an invitation to come see the team in action.
Get involved beyond the team
You do not have to be a student to be part of River City Robotics. A team this size runs on the people around it, and we are always looking for more help.
Mentors
Engineers, programmers, machinists, designers, and other professionals who can share what they know. Even a few hours a season helps our students learn how the real work gets done.
Volunteers & families
Parents and community members who can lend a hand with events, travel, fundraising, and the hundred small things that keep a season running.
Bring FIRST to your school
