Welcome to River City Robotics

At River City Robotics, we believe that every young person has the potential to become an innovator, problem-solver, and community leader. As an Alberta-based FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) team, we provide students with hands-on experience in engineering, programming, and design while fostering teamwork, creativity, and a passion for making a positive impact.

Our mission extends beyond building competitive robots. We’re committed to using our technical skills to serve our community, particularly through our ongoing partnership with local organizations supporting individuals with disabilities. Through 3D printing and custom engineering solutions, our team members learn that technology isn’t just about competition—it’s about creating meaningful change in people’s lives.

Whether you’re interested in mechanical design, software programming, project management, or community outreach, River City Robotics offers a supportive environment where students can explore their interests, develop new skills, and build lasting friendships with like-minded peers.

Join us in building not just robots, but a better future for our community.

Learn the principles of engineering design, from initial concept sketches to detailed CAD modeling. Our students master industry-standard software and develop critical thinking skills to solve complex mechanical challenges.

Get hands-on experience with manufacturing processes, 3D printing, machining, and assembly. Transform digital designs into physical prototypes and competition-ready robots while learning about materials science and manufacturing techniques.

Master programming languages and control systems that bring robots to life. From sensor integration to autonomous navigation, our coding team develops the “brain” that makes intelligent robotics possible.

Develop game strategy, drive training, and competition tactics. Learn project management, team coordination, and effective communication while preparing for high-stakes competitions.
