The 2026-27 FIRST Tech Challenge season is BIOBUZZ, and we cannot wait. Part of the FIRST CANOPY program, this season takes its inspiration from the natural world, challenging teams to harness the energy, teamwork, and ingenuity found in nature.

About the season

The full game rules and robot specifications will be revealed at the official season Kickoff on September 12, 2026. Here is what we know so far: the season’s scoring element is Pollen – round, three-inch game pieces, similar in feel to the Artifacts used in this past season’s DECODE game. Beyond that, the details are still under wraps, and our students are already buzzing with anticipation.
